Volunteer director and webmaster for the Brook Hills Homeowners Association, a 500 member planned urban development in Orland Park, IL. Brook Hills is the largest subdivision in Orland Park, which is ranked among the top 100 best small cities in America, according to Money Magazine.Developed and maintains an interactive community web site and broadcast e-mail lists for announcements, special interest groups and alerts. Re-elected to Board of Directors three times. Created an MS Access database to track resident data, volunteers and dues standing. Performs annual dues billing and publishes bi-annual newsletters. A champion of major capital projects including new entrance signage and the reintroduction of a community walking path. Chairs or co-chairs ongoing special events including a childrens bicycle parade, pool night, community garage sales, and a fall festival.

Assist NMMA boat show exhibitors in the use of an online inventory system rolled out 11/09. Identify key exhibitor staff, sell program benefits, and provide training. Navigate clients through various implementation phases quickly to insure maximum adoption in advance of a dozen regional boat shows. Liaison to technical service provider and show management. Make recommendations to stakeholders as project matures regarding lessons learned and potential improvements.

Liaison to field auditors and marine dealerships working toward certification under the auspices of an industry-wide Grow Boating initiative. Designed a tracking and sales database in Microsoft Access. Distributed monthly e-newsletters and maintained subscriber lists in the Lyris content management system. Represented the program at trade shows and explained the benefits of certification to prospective clients. Prepared meeting materials and monthly statistics. Perform billing and reconcile financial data with NMMA Accounting Department regarding dealerships in various stages of education and certification.

Executive Director – Marine Association For Technology Exchange Standards 2006-2008Led a start-up affiliate association of the NMMA tasked with developing XML data standards for the marine industry. Responsible for member recruitment, retention, board development, meetings, committees and projects. Developed and distributed membership content via conference calls, newsletters, mailing lists and press releases. Co-developed standards with similar groups representing other industries (automotive, power sports) and served on the STAR organization's steering committee. Also administered the Marine Data Exchange, a subscriber-based EDI trading network. Created web sites for the programs I guided and introduced new content management solutions to colleagues for their own programs.

Served as a volunteer Steering Committee/Board Member on behalf of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and the Marine Association for Technology Exchange Standards (MATES).Hosted the 2007 STAR Fall Conference for over 60 automotive professionals. Obtained multiple corporate sponsorships to underwrite costs for transportation, meeting space, food & beverage and a welcome reception. Event was held within the 2007 International Boat Builders' Exhibition & Conference (IBEX). Arranged for STAR to provide the keynote speaker for the IBEX Industry Award Breakfast (closing reception). From 03/06 - 11/08, served as the MATES member liaison to STAR, representing marine industry interests. Attend bi-monthly and subcommittee meetings. Assist MATES member companies with development of marine variations of STAR XML standards by leveraging STAR expertise, including data architects. Advocate the use of STAR open source software development tools.
