In early 2017, after a rewarding 17-year career in Fine Arts Higher Education, I transitioned to DanceAbility International, a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating barriers for individuals with disabilities. (www.danceability.com) In 2019, I assumed the role of Managing Director, just before the onset of the pandemic. With venues closed, I concentrated on securing nearly $250,000 in grants and funding—enough to cover two years of operating expenses—ensuring our viability through 2020 and early 2021, and positioning us for sustainability over the long term. Having been in crisis mode for over a year, it was a significant relief to return to writing grants for performances, strategic planning, and operational support.Now, I’m excited to offer my grant writing and consulting services to other nonprofits.
