• Serve as museum ambassador. Create talks and PowerPoint presentations for various groups. Attend conferences and rail themed events for museum.• As volunteer coordinator; I recruit, train, and implement the volunteers into various aspects of museum operations. Created an interpretive guide to museum collection for the volunteers to learn the material before becoming an active guide or docent. • Create and lead interpretive tours of museum’s rolling stock collection. I manage the rolling stock and locomotives through cleaning, changing, and inspection of the equipment and layout. • Conduct the bank deposits and aspects of reporting through weekly sales reporting, monthly attendance recording, and retail inventory reports. • Handle retail purchasing. • Serve as Friends of MAR secretary. Work on the retention and growth of the membership roster. Had success with seasonal membership drives. • Use mass marketing email (Constant Contact) and social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Periscope) to connect with the public. These have been successful in promoting our tours, sharing museum news, and promoting major events such as North Texas Giving Day, Day out with Thomas, and Santa Express. • Researched and coauthored a Museum of the American Railroad: Images of Modern America. Arcadia Publishing spring 2016 release.• Co-wrote a script for a documentary video on Pullman Porters and our Pullman collection. This was done in partnership with Frisco ISDTV.• We sponsor and co-host an annual event, Day out with Thomas. During this event I manage the retail operation and temporary staffers.

• Led interpretive tours of the Eisenhower Birthplace. Visitors varied in age, level of interest, and spoken language. I led tours of individuals, families, larger groups and school children. • Assisted the Sam Bell Maxey Home, in Paris, Texas. Packed, stored, and cataloged artifacts in preparation for house restoration with other THC employees.• Handled written and electronic correspondence. Answered phones and took payments with Quick Books Point of Sale.• Cared for fowl.• Assisted and planned onsite events for Eisenhower’s birthday, etc. • Opened and closed site. Worked alone or as a team. • Spent time out of doors conducting tours in freezing temperatures to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. • Filled in as needed for maintenance work. (Cleaning, mowing the grass, watering, etc.)• Became involved in local community. Represented the museum at city functions and served on the 2011 Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance committee.

• Taught United States history survey courses: “Colonial Origins to Reconstruction” and “Reconstruction to Present Day.” Used Microsoft PowerPoint to enhance my lectures and provide an outline of the day’s subject with key terms, maps, photographs, graphs, and occasional video and audio clips. I lectured in fifty-minute and hour-and-fifteen minute length classes with and audience ranging from fifteen to forty students.• Member of Texas Community Colleges Teacher Association. • Served as assistant to the East Texas Historical Association (1/06-12/07). Assisted the ETHA in preparation for and during major annual meetings, smaller area meetings, symposiums, and other events.
