John phoned him, and after some discussions, purchased the three magazine titles. In an interview, John said, “I feel a bit like Victor Kiam. I liked the product so much that I bought the whole company.”John did not buy the company for Status Quo. John was proclaimed as The Official Town Crier for The Town of Markham by Town Council in 1987. He became very visible throughout the Town at over 200 events each year, conducting historic walks, and reading proclamations at official functions.
