Acterna was an Atlanta-based Communications Equipment Company that was acquired by JDS Uniphase Corp. in 2005. As a developer for Virtuoso II, a proprietary cellular billing C/S system that utilized Andersen Consulting's "Foundation" as middleware, I gained in-depth knowledge of the Sybase/MS SQL Server database architectures and learned business and financial processes typical of a telecommunications company to understand programming problems and needs.Position Highlights:- Fast-tracked from Client/Server Programmer Level I to Level II in six-months rather than the typical 1 to 2 year transition.- Became the SME in VII Reporting Architecture for the entire company.- Developed various Ksh and Perl scripts used for controlling, maintaining and tweaking asynchronous batch billing processes in UNIX.
