His vision is to position ISU as a key player in groundbreaking research and global partnerships, extending humanity’s reach into space.Before joining ISU, Dr. Wensveen served as the Chief Innovation Officer at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and the Executive Director of the Alan B. Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He spearheaded a multimillion-dollar public-private partnership that boosted South Florida’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by attracting top talent, cutting-edge technologies, and significant investment capital. His leadership helped establish the Levan Center as a premier innovation hub, and he advised the Mayor of Broward County on innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr. Wensveen has held significant academic leadership positions, including Vice Provost of Academic Schools at Miami Dade College, where he oversaw professional education programs and built key corporate and governmental partnerships. Dr. Wensveen’s involvement with MAXjet started in late 2002 having participated as co-author on the MAXjet business plan and was involved with creation of the private placement memorandum for second and third round fundraising. MAXjet launched an IPO on the London AIM Exchange raising 50 million GBP. While at MAXjet, he lead partnership development with airlines, airports, international government bodies, ground handling and security organizations and represented the company as spokesperson. Dr. Wensveen was responsible for setting up the European infrastructure including ground operations and was also responsible for overall P&L of European operations and some aspects of US operations. While at MAXjet, he managed quick growth and aided in the build out of a strong executive team.
