I am a life-long technologist and visionary, perpetually involved in emerging technologies and change. I have served as an engineer, technical lead, architect, and technical manager and director for dozens of major enterprise and business unit technology change projects, as well as building and leading organizations of 300+ technologists. My passion lies in envisioning a better tech-driven future and finding the people to help me bring that to reality. In 2016 I founded the “Idea Lab,” which was the catalyst for what has evolved into a Digital Transformation that encompasses the entire company. Bringing world class design and software engineering culture and talent in-house, led to strong mobile, cloud-native, and API competencies which has led to the creation of mobile apps including the our customer mobile app and Kilowatt Krush, an industry first mobile app game platform to teach gamers about energy efficiency. To date, my teams have built 50+ digital products that are transforming our customer experience and boosting NPS. In 2017 I saw the opportunity to establish AR/VR capabilities. That led to unparalleled VR capability, gas industry-first virtual training certifications, and the launch of Virtual Crew (virtualcrew.io), our commercial VR training offering. In 2018 I began laying the groundwork for our transition to public cloud. That has culminated in a world class cloud center of excellence and application modernization strategy that is “doing cloud” better than anyone that’s gone before us by focusing on our 3 core tenants of being highly skilled and optimized around cost, cyber, and resilience. In 2018 I founded a blockchain team that built POC’s in the area of energy trading and crypto economics, and currently working on an innovative platform in support of our clean energy transition. By founding a VR startup, cranking out digital experiences, and developing a game app and mobile app with over a million users, all within a fortune 100, I’ve proven that an energy company can compete with the digital natives. With our cloud and engineering strength, a focus on human-centered design, a strong blockchain foundation and world class VR capabilities, my passion for the future is positioning us to be the leader in enterprise, critical infrastructure grade, Web 3.0 capabilities and becoming the first “metaverse energy company.”
