I've been working in 'service provider' roles in IT for over 35 years, as a specialist in IT Service Management. In more recent years I’ve been primarily focussing on leading specialist presales cloud service architect teams providing comprehensive advanced service solutions for Oracle Cloud related IT requirements, particularly Oracle SaaS, OCI and Cloud at Customer, spanning new technology adoption, advanced support, security, operations and managed services. I tend to focus on roles that enable clients to achieve the right "real world" blend of leading IT and business best practices in IT Service, Programme and Project Management to deliver real, measurable business benefits. I passionately believe there is no single silver bullet - whether we're talking DevOps, Agile, ITIL, PRINCE, PMO, COBIT etc. etc. ... some is valuable documentation of industry common sense and good practice, some is thought provoking theory, none should be followed without question - all need to be considered, but business led, conscious and pragmatic decisions always need to be made.
