As part of this work, I architected and designed an audio system for Android that does on-the-fly PCM to AMR encoding and streaming via HTTP. The system also takes unobstructive samples of the sound amplitude allowing us to display high-quality visualizations without interrupting audio or compromising the quality or integrity of the recordings.
