Provide direction to a joint division of City and County government comprised of 175 employees responsible for planning and development services including land use, comprehensive planning, sustainability and resilience, transportation, housing, and construction code enforcement.

Led strategic initiatives of a multi-disciplinary division including: creation of the Office of Comprehensive Planning and development of the Memphis 3.0 Comprehensive Plan, the city of Memphis’s first citywide comprehensive plan since 1981; development process, permitting, and customer service delivery improvements; and direction for Shelby County’s Greenprint for Resilience project, funded by a $60.4 million HUD National Disaster Resilience Grant.

Led implementation of the Sustainable Shelby Plan, a strategic framework for action on sustainability initiatives in Memphis and Shelby County, a certified 4-STAR Community. Coordinates various sustainability program areas such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste reduction and recycling, green infrastructure, sustainable food systems, and resilience.

Program Manager of the Mid-South Regional Greenprint and Sustainability Plan, managing a $2.6 million HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant to develop a unified vision for a regional network of green space connecting across the Greater Memphis area. The plan includes a comprehensive set of recommended actions toward regional sustainability through improving green space, transportation, health, environment, neighborhoods, and the regional economy.
