About John Morgan

I am currently the Chief Executive Officer of Alfa Research, LLC. My role is to advise power producers in developing behind the meter colocation opportunities with data center owner operators. I have worked globally in the digital infrastructure and technology industries over the past thirty years with a focus on digital infrastructure, process optimization, and organizational design. During my time at Facebook, I supported telecommunication carriers with the adoption of open architectures and advocating for the underlying organizational shifts required to support such adoption. I was the founding member of the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) which focused on evangelizing the benefits open sourced hardware and software for communication networks. Additionally I provided ongoing support for the Open Compute Project (OCP) which served a similar mission supporting the data center industry. Prior to joining Facebook, I was the global lead for legacy service migrations at Accenture where I advised and worked with C-suite executives on product rationalization, copper to fiber migrations, customer experience analysis, decommissioning strategies for central office equipment and application development for scaling migration efforts. I have held executive positions with a number of software start-up firms within technology industries as well as with leading carriers such as Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), Level 3 Communications (now Lumen) and Genuity. My background includes digital infrastructure planning, engineering, product management, systems development, finance, and operations organizations as well as leading organizational change.I completed my undergraduate work in Accounting at the College of William and Mary and received my MS in Information and Telecommunications Systems from the Johns Hopkins University.
