I am a Los-Angeles-based Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer. Eventually, I would love to be working at a company where I apply Data Science techniques to accelerate societal progress, especially (but not exclusively) within the realms of Education, Medicine or Public Health. True to the words above by Neil Degrasse Tyson, I really do strive to continue learning every day of my life, and I want to use that knowledge to help make the world a better place overall. I studied applied physics to get my B.S. at Columbia. I loved the critical and analytical thinking required in the discipline. Towards the end of my college career, I took the last part of Tyson's quote to heart and got the idea in my head that my life's purpose was to share my love of learning and knowledge with the young generation. So I taught high school science, math, and computer science during my four years at a Brooklyn charter school (for a total of NINE different courses over the four years, mind you). I loved it, but there was definitely something missing.I began to realize that the part of my brain I liked using best--the mathematical, problem solving part--was simply getting bored. I dove head first into data science and machine learning. I owe my current levels of expertise in the field to Lambda School and its community. I have worked hard, full-time and beyond, to gain the knowledge I have now.
