Hello, my name is Joleen. I am a new Occupational Therapy currently working in the SNF setting. I have worked in the health care field with a concentration in geriatrics since 2013 when I graduated with my BS in health science and received a certificate in gerontology. I have dedicated my life to helping seniors live fulfilling lives as best as they can. My goal is to work closely with the senior population to help them become more independent in the ways that are meaningful to them while helping them engage in what makes them feel purposeful. I have worked in home health as a caregiver, PSS. I have worked with people with dementia in a group called Living Well with Dementia. I have worked as an activity assistant in both the nursing home level and assisted living level. I have worked as a CRMA for multiple assisted living facilities. Through my experience I have realized that I have a passion towards helping the senior population and have been told that I have a great demeanor and personality for this population. I am patient, calm, compassionate and dedicated to do whatever needed to ensure the best care for my patients. I plan to continue my dedication to the senior population by providing a holistic approach to improving their lives in ways that are meaningful to them.
