Senior Communications Officer for the Customer and Communities directorate

Supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of communications for Adult Social Care at Surrey County Council.

Responsible for finding and telling great stories that promote the University of Surrey locally, nationally and internationally – with a focus on promoting the University’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

I worked as part of the People directorate on all aspects of Children’s Social Care communications.My remit also focussed on delivering various campaigns to ensure that, despite the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sutton continues to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Highlight: Leading on the campaign for The Royal Opera tour to Tokyo as part of the UK in Japan 2019-20, where the company performed two operas, Faust and Otello. I worked closely with both tour venues and a press agency in Japan to execute a successful media campaign, including organising a press conference, production photocalls and numerous.

Highlight: Leading on national and international tour campaigns, working with world renowned ballet dancer Carlos Acosta for his two year Classical Farewell tour, produced by Sadler’s Wells. Leading on the press campaign for international hip-hop theatre festival Breakin’ Convention for four consecutive years, including UK tours and the Canadian festival.

Highlight: Working alongside the Press Manager to assist in raising the profile of Company’s move to South Bank in 2013.✔️Analysing and distributing weekly sales reports✔️Working closely with marketing teams from regional venues about the local press and marketing campaigns; including print requirements, cast sheets and front of house materials.✔️Drafting.

- Working at TKTS, the main theatre discount ticket booth in London’s Leicester Square. - Providing an informal and impartial tickets sales service to the public using an online ticketing system.

- Analysing and distributing daily sales reports.- Writing and distributing regular press releases to local media contacts.- Ensuring power displays materials remained visible in the venue and local area. - Assisting in running in-house mailings, updating a database of contacts and the theatre’s website and social media platforms.- Creating meeting agendas.

- Working as part of the backstage crew on Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End- Learning and delivering specific crew plots on a nightly basis, ensuring smooth running of the production. - Working rehearsals before and after a cast change.
