DHP published "A Different Dream for My Child: Meditations for Parents of Critically or Chronically Ill Children" in 2009. It is now in its second printing. They released "Different Dream Parenting: A Practical Guide to Raising a Child with Special Needs" in November of 2011.
I've written more than 150 magazine articles for regional and national publications since 2003. Topics range from a recipe column to devotionals to resources for parents of kids with special needs. A Different Dream for My Child: Meditations for parents of Critically or Chronically Ill Children was released by Discovery House Publishers in 2009. Different Dream Parenting: A Practical Guide for Raising a Child with Special Needs was released on November 1, 2011. When I need a break from the writing life, I speak at parenting conferences and church events.
I coordinated and taught in the Talented and Gifted Program from 1985 - 1990. After that, I jumped ship to teach third grade for five years and fourth grade for eight years. Kids with learning difficulties and special needs were welcome in my classrooms.
