• Since secondary school I have been avidly interested in healthcare and biology. I want a deeper and more detailed understanding of the human body so I can use my knowledge to help improve quality of life and help play a role in saving lives. • I am a diligent and highly motivated individual that can excel at any task that I am given. I think quick on my feet and use my initiative to overcome problems without relying on others. I am a 3rd year university student studying human biology. I am very interested in learning different disciplines to broaden my capabilities and I am always striving to better myself. • I grew up in the southside of Glasgow working with my father who is a self-employed joiner who runs his own business. It was during my attendance at secondary school that my interest was sparked in working in a healthcare setting, so I applied as a volunteer through the NHS where now I currently enjoy doing the runs on the renal unit at the New Victoria Hospital giving out tea and sandwiches and engaging with patients.• During 6th year I was part of the young STEM leaders programme where my role was to help younger pupils interested in science by assisting them with experiments and speak to them about their choices when leaving school. It was a rewarding experience, and it has helped me learn the importance of communication and presenting myself as an approachable and trustworthy person.• Recently over summer to assist my studies at university I secured a position working for Sodexo as a till worker.

Construction LaborerStephen Fraser Joiners May 2022 - PresentGlasgow, Scotland, United KingdomI currently work with my father who is self-employed and has run his business successfully for the last 30 years. I work 2-3 times per week and I have been entrusted with creating and sending all the invoices for the company of my own accord. I also work regularly on clients’ sites, with regular early morning work and usually work 10 hour shifts. Whilst on site I would regularly risk assess our work and ensure we have on the appropriate PPE. This has given me a good foundation of health and safety in the workplace. I also carry out varied manual work including tasks such as minor demolition work, minor electrical work, using power tools, cutting wood to precise lengths and following advanced instructions precisely.

Administrative Assistant & Electricians MateCostin Group Ltd Jun 2019 - Aug 2021Bathgate, Scotland, United KingdomI secured myself a voluntary position with Costin Group and I helped during the school holidays. After only two weeks of starting in the summer of 2019, my manager promoted me to a paid position which I was extremely grateful for. My role involved me doing many administration tasks in the office such as replying to customer queries, answering the telephones, ensuring all the training and HR records were in order and assisting with the payroll. I was then asked if I would like to spend some time doing work with an electrician for the company to which I agreed. I would assist the electrician with fitting and wiring items such as gas interlock systems, single and three phase fan units, fan speed controllers and inverters. I learned a lot during my time on site such as permit to work systems, isolation procedures, wiring correctly from a technical diagram and how to compose myself professionally whilst with clients or their employees.
