Manage pet food: inventory and order food supplies from Hills, Purina and Royal Canin, keep food room organized. Receive food orders and post them to computer inventory. Reception duties: manage phone and follow up calls, keep charts organized (file, pull next day appointments and follow up charts), process medication requests for clients, set appointments, keep printer trays full, make sure doctors get laboratory results, admit and discharge clients. Keep reception area clean. Train new hires with reception duties. Technician duties: Client education, obtaining vital signs and history for patients, animal restraint, x-ray animal positioning and film processing, janitorial, phlebotomy, place IV catheters, express anal glands, toe nail trim, keep in house lab machines maintained and clean, in house laboratory procedures (collection and processing: urine, fecal, sampling ear debris, skin lesions and infections, running the in house blood machine and other diagnostic tests), clean, wrap and autoclave surgical instruments and gowns, pre-surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring and post-surgical nursing, dental cleaning, take dental x-rays and process films.
