Carnforth, Lancashire

AshTrees Surgery with Arnside Medical Practice provides Primary Care services for 17,500 patients across 4 sites in Lancashire and South Cumbria. I worked with the partners on the acquisition and merger between two practices in 2014.I conducted a public engagement process which involved over 300 patients and members of the public as part of an exercise to streamline Primary Care Provision within Silverdale village.I also oversaw introduction of the Friends and Family test into both practices - more details available on Ash Trees website.Ash Trees was inspected by the Care Quality Commission in October 2014, achieving an overall Good rating, which my contributions significantly aided.

Cockermouth

On Monday 27th January 2014 we opened the brand new £11 million Cockermouth Community Hospital and Health Centre. My role has been to lead Derwent and Castlegate Surgeries change management and Strategic planning for the move.I personally ensured the success of this fantastic project, bringing patient centred, modern healthcare facilities to Cockermouth. My contributions include generation of over £100,000 income through Directed Enhanced Services, streamlined chronic disease clinics and highly supportive patient representative groups.I supported two GP practices with strategic planning and organisational development to meet the changing needs of NHS Commissioning and efficiency savings. I developed strong patient representative groups in both practices, and oversaw generation of over £110,000 income through Directed Enhanced Services, along with consistent improvements in Quality and Outcomes Framework procedures in both practices.Facilitating shared working and organisational development, improved systems and procedures is made easier by exceptional communication with staff and staff empowerment.My contributions also ensured a strong base for Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance, who visited both practices in April 2014.

I acted facilitator for Cumbria Chartered Management Institute network, having been on the branch committee for 2 years. The branch hosted a range of managerial development opportunities and events annually, often jointly with other professional networks within Cumbria and Lancashire

Kendal, Cumbria

Helping in the warehouse and ensuring boxes correctly packaged and labelled to travel to Romania.Supporting warehouse manager with organisational arrangements.Now overseeing organisation of warehouse documentation and filing, supporting Trustees and Warehouse Managers with paperwork, including design of an organisational risk management framework. During May 2014, I visited Romania to undertake support with People 2 People, our partner organisation in Romania, visiting Amicii Day Centre and Tinca School where I supported Class 0 with lessons and arranged for additional teaching materials and shoes to be provided for the younger children. I also recommended to the Trustees that a community washing machine project through the school could contribute to helping the community integrate better and this project was taken on during 2014 and 2015 to raise funding for the machine, water, electricity and washing powder for the school.

I have recently spent 10 days in Oradea, Romania, supporting People to People Foundation and visiting Tinca School which Boxes of Hope Supports. A hugely valuable experience.

South Lakeland, Cumbria

I was responsible for the implementation of the roll out of the new social care contract procured by Cumbria County Council throughout Cumbria.I supported change management throughout the organisation, led the recruitment and induction of over 100 staff, oversaw revised care procedures and risk management, and supported management development for new team leaders.

During my three years at Kirkham, I managed several functions, including leading the efficiency savings project, which achieved over £2 million savings against the £13 million budget between 2009 and 2011.I also managed hard & soft performance inc. culture change; facilitated staff /prisoner consultation and engagement in prison life & improvement; Introduced development programmes for middle managers; functional management of large staff groups.
