Jo is a 4x founder, design strategist, and MBA professor who specializes in resilient business models and systemic transformation within legacy industries. She is a co-founder of Mothership Materials, a deep tech materials science company that captures nutrients discarded in ag waste to create the world’s most sustainable ingredients, fuels and feedstocks. She previously founded and led MOTHER SUPERIOR, a venture fund and impact foundry that aligned purpose-driven entrepreneurs with exponential impact models. She is a professor in the MBA in Design Strategy program at California College of the Arts, where she teaches Sustainability Studio and Venture Studio, the program’s capstone course (Spring). She is also a professor in the BBA program at Parsons The New School, where she teaches Design of Business (Fall).Early in her career, Jo founded and exited two award-winning local food restaurants and was certified as a permaculture designer – unique experiences which inform her understanding of regenerative natural systems and design of transformative business models.
