I am currently a Scientific Writer at a GLP laboratory, where I collaborate with study directors to prepare detailed and accurate GLP-compliant reports.I was previously a Graduate Researcher at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer, Edinburgh, with an outstanding academic record and excellent technical writing ability. I have strong analytical, R programming and command-line skills. My strong growth mindset has allowed me to change careers from Primary Education to Science and, during my undergraduate degree at the University of Huddersfield, I was the recipient of several academic prizes. I was also awarded funding from the Biochemical Society for a Summer Vacation Studentship.I am naturally curious, personable and excited to learn about innovative science. As a researcher, I am self-motivated and actively pursue opportunities for professional development. My time as a researcher has provided me with strong project management skills and I use project management tools, such as Jira and Monday, to keep track of tasks, progress and deadlines. My broad range of work experience has also enabled me to develop my communication skills, engage with diverse audiences and build my resilience. As a result, I am highly adaptable, able to convey complex information in an appropriate format for the target audience and able to persevere through challenging circumstances.
