My time with Teach for India gave me a lot of insight into the education sector in the country. I got a clearer idea on how inequity has a detrimental effect on the educational sector and how we can change that. During my time with Teach for India, my team and I taught over 200 grade 9th students coming from low income communities in Hyderabad. I taught English and Social science and my teammates taught them science and math. During this time, I was able to successfully coach my students for 'Halla Bol 6.0' an online, city wide debate competition, resulting in 2 out of the 4 teams that we trained qualifying for the semi finals and one of the two teams finishing in second place.
