Most recent responsibility was to architect the American Express Global MPLS solution with a team of American Express engineers, Cisco and various contributors. My responsibility was focused on the Transactional Network, supporting the Merchants and GNS partners (revenue generating). The work effort included coordinating efforts with all international teams in order to deliver a consistent solution in all areas. I specifically drove the routing solution with the assistance of two peer engineers.Additional role consisted of engineering support for the GNS Global Network. In the several years supporting GNS I rebuilt the global network, re-engineered their partner solution "Globe" & provided the ability to auto track Issuing Bank partner response times across our global network on each transaction sent for their approval. Global Merchant Services is now leveraging this same solution. The product has provided further fault isolation by its deployment throughout the network. The "Latency Locator" product was granted a patent on April 30, 2008. ( Patent Application: AMEX Ref.: 200700009; FCHS Ref.: 03292.10570, Granted April 30, 2008.)Other areas of responsibility included working in the American Express Web Complex team. Responsibilities included leading a team in the redesign, maintenance, upgrade and trouble shooting of the environment. Environment included a wide range of Cisco equipment to include Local Directors, Content Switches, Catalyst 65xx/55xx series switches, 7500 series routers, 3500 series switches and Network Associates Distributed Sniffers. Developed change control process for developers to implement new projects/web sites that provided controls and auditing.

Responsibilities included network support and trouble-shooting of routers, switches and hubs, as well as managing Arboleda staff supporting voice and server farm. Support covers manufacturers such as Cisco, Bay Networks (Nortel), Network General (Network Associates), and IBM. Trouble-shooting/Protocol Analysis involves standard protocol suite of TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, and SNA. The major topologies are Token Ring and Ethernet. Utilize network topology maps, naming convention documents and various other standardized methodology documents (Amex processes: IMR, SR, CMR, and various Lotus Notes databases) in order to document and maintain infrastructure. Managed the network via NetView, Cisco Works, Resource Manager, HP Openview, CA UniCenter and Optivity products. Other roles include implementation and configuration of new facilities infrastructure. Roles included managing various large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities included Netware and OS/2 LAN administration, as well as project planning and implementation. Managed customer and vendor coordination to analyze and implement LANs. This includes training, trouble-shooting, new release upgrades/patches and consultation.
