I am a recent graduate from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering with a tract in Ceramic and Electronic Materials. Previously, I have worked two summers as an intern at Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel Mills. One part of the mill that I worked in was in the Metallurgical Laboratory, mainly participating in projects involving failure analysis of all products and customer claims. Also, while in the Met Lab, I worked on projects that improved the quality control system. Most recently, I have worked in the quality assurance division of the rail mill. There, I worked on projects to involving the rolling process and ways to decrease variation in the process.With my education from the Colorado School of Mines and my work at Evraz, I have developed my interests in physical metallurgy, especially in the area of steel. Along with that, I have advanced my knowledge of what is required in a manufacturing process and ways such as Six Sigma control to ensure quality. I am also interested in the field of ceramic engineering, and through my education and school projects, I have advanced my knowledge in the area.Skills:-Laboratory:Extrusion of a tough ceramic tube from the initial development of a proper composition of constituents through the act of extrusion and ending with creating and refining a sintering profile.Foundry and physical metallurgy basics including tensile testing, hardness testing, microstructural analysis and development, and metal forging and forming.Electron microscopy image generation using both scanning electron microscopes and transmitting electron microscopes.-Computer:Auto CAD, SolidWorks, Minitab, Grapher, Microsoft Office
