I am a career focused, diligent risk professional with eight years' experience in various risk disciplines in the financial services industry. In my current role I am responsible for supporting and challenging the senior owners of IT Resilience and IT Security risks. Prior to this I held risk management roles in retail banking business units, human resources and group property. My primary responsibilities in these roles have been the identification, management, mitigation, monitoring and reporting of risk, to ensure policy, legal and regulatory compliance. The risks that I have managed include customer journey, complaint handling, vulnerable customer treatment, fraud, service provision, supplier management and change. Through these various roles and responsibilities, I have developed a detailed understanding of the Conduct, Compliance and Operational Risks specific to my employer and the wider financial services industry. My broad spectrum of stakeholders mean that I constantly have to adapt my communication style to complement my audience. This includes frequent interlock with Directors, all three lines of defence, internal and external audit, product owners, change teams, risk champions and my peers. I operate with the highest standard of colleague engagement and stakeholder management to support, challenge and influence decisions. I am keen to utilise and develop my skills as demonstrated by my continuous professional development while working in the risk and control space; completing an advanced certificate in Risk Management, a level six diploma in Risk, Compliance and Governance (with merit) and a degree apprenticeship in Risk, Compliance and Governance (with distinction). During operational roles within the Retail Division I have also qualified with chartered certificates in People Management, Complaint Handling and LEAN Sigma.
