I am a Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) with over 16 years of professional experience within a consultancy framework. Throughout this time I have developed a detailed understanding of terrestrial habitats, faunal ecology, wildlife legislation, ecological project management and the UK planning system. I currently hold Natural England licences to survey for, and am eligible to hold mitigation licences for; UK Bats (including Bat Mitigation Class Licence), Great Crested Newts, Dormouse, Badger (including Badger Mitigation Class Licence), and White-clawed Crayfish. I am also responsible for planning and undertaking a wide range of field surveys for a variety of habitats and species groups, including; riparian mammals, amphibians, and reptiles. I regularly produce and deliver Ecological Appraisals, EIA chapters, and shadow HRAs, for projects across the UK. This often requires close integration with other environmental disciplines to deliver the necessary high standard of assessment. This has been put to use through my involvement in a wide range of major infrastructure developments, including UK/European airports, roads and railways. In addition to working in the UK on complex residential, commercial and industrial projects (with wide-ranging ecological considerations), I have a proven track record of ecological survey and reporting in Southern Europe and the Middle East. This broad exposure to species and habitats not typically found in the UK, has also developed my capacity to provide bespoke ecological assessments, tailored to suit any project.
