My name is Jon Cabrera, and I am the owner of TRI DET Solutions Group, Inc. As a retired 30-year law enforcement professional, I have had a very exciting and fulfilling career. I spent most of my time working high-risk assignments to include many years in Special Weapons and Tactics, more commonly known as SWAT. Some of my responsibilities have included being a firearms instructor, active shooter response instructor, use of force instructor, canine handler, and a gang investigator. As a sergeant I was responsible for investigating officer involved shootings and complex administrative (Internal Affairs) investigations within the organization. I have written and developed department policy, training standards, and tactics to address and resolve a variety of critical incidents. I have taught across the United States on a variety of the above-mentioned concepts and topics. I currently sit on the board of directors for a nationally recognized SWAT association. Some of the added responsibilities on this board are to conduct reviews of major incidents and tactical teams across the State of California, providing guidance on policy, tactics, training, and procedures to assist them in improving performance and reducing liability. During my tenure I was fortunate to work with and be mentored by some brilliant minds in my industry, which is what guided me to create TRI DET Solutions Group. Over the years my goal was to help as many people as I could reach in my line of work. I quickly realized that many of the skills I have spent years developing transcend my profession and can have a positive impact on countless others. Humility is a staple of TRI DET, and we will show you what pitfalls to avoid through our own experiences. But fear not, as failure is not a bad thing. Failure is what creates growth and we do not fear failure, we thrive on it. One of our core fundamentals is “Decision making”. Decision making and further, crisis decision making, requires an understanding of foundational concepts that can guide you to success and mitigating loss. I have spent my career dealing with crisis and conflict, and the same principles that we use every day can help you in all aspects of life and in your corporate success.Some of the services we can provide include, Expert witness review and testimony, Policy review and development, Critical Incident Preparation, Personal Firearms Training, and Team Building Concepts.
