I have 35 years experience in the design of building structures, 28 of which have been as a Chartered Engineer.During this time I have worked on a diverse range of projects, most notably in the Education and Sport & Leisure sectors, but also including the Commercial, Retail and Residential sectors, as well as a number of refurbishment and domestic projects and structural surveys.I also teach at The University of Sheffield’s Department of Structural and Civil Engineering, where I have taught ‘Multi Storey Building Design’ to third year undergraduates since 2007, and am module leader for the 'Integrated Design Project' which received an IStructE 'Excellence in Structural Engineering Education' Award in 2014.In 2013, I joined the Yorkshire Regional Group committee of The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), becoming Programme Secretary and Senior Vice Chair in 2014. I was Chair in 2016, and am currently Treasurer.
