About Jon Colón

I finished my fuels mx career with Air Combat Command at Cannon AFB, NM with the 27th Fighter Wing, and served in the CENTCOM theater designing/maintaining aircraft refueling systems. I was the 332d AEW Environmental Coordinator in Iraq in 2004. I have also served on HAZMAT First Responder teams and am a certified HAZMAT trainer. I became a Base Maintenance Contract QAE managing over $62M for two Co-Operated Bases in the ROK and Special Operations Support for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) Echo Co for 14 months. I then cross-trained into the USAF Command and Control career field for my final 4 years of military service. I retired 1 Sep 2010, as a Master Sergeant, and served as a 618th Tanker Airlift Control Center Flight Chief. I served as a GS-12 Air Transportation Specialist and Master Training Instructor for AMC's Expeditionary Center and accumulated over 2,500 hours teaching Community College of the Air Force accredited courses in the areas of Military Doctrine, Geographic and Functional Air Operations Centers, Global Force Management, Diplomatic Clearances, Threat Working Groups and Cyber Defense, Command Relationships and Security Cooperation Agreements. In April 2015, I received my Master Instructor certification. I was the Course Director for the MAF AFFOR Senior Staff Course, the Global Mobility Air Operations Executive Course, and the 618 AOC Strategy Directorate Course. I am currently a GS-13 in AMC/A3PC serving as the Command’s Capabilities Integration Planning Manager. I have a BA in Military History from AMU and I also completed COMPTIA A+ and COMPTIA Security+ certification programs.
