Jon Cope is the Director of Kaleidoscope Multicultural Arts Management, an independent arts agency that specialises in culturally diverse arts projects and community cultural development consultancy. He is a highly skilled culturally competent communicator and visionary arts manager, with a deep commitment to the creative value of Australia’s diverse cultural fabric. He brings decades of experience in the arts and music industry, community development and tertiary education sector, to empower others to achieve connection and success. Jon was instrumental in the creation of the World Music Café social enterprise business model working collaboratively with participants of new migrant and refugee backgrounds and community partner United in Diversity. World Music Café provides genuine opportunities for economic and social integration into Australian society through skills training, employment, and community connection. It is described by the UWA Centre for Social Impact evaluation report as ‘An Oasis of Integration in Our Country’. World Music Café has produced a series of documentary films that promote Australia’s values of cultural inclusivity, social cohesion, and creative collaboration, to international markets as part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Australian Cultural Diplomacy Program. KMAM also provides Community Cultural Development consultancy for local governments. Jon worked with the City of Mandurah and produced a documentary film 'Culture Chats' with the Mandurah community for the 2022 Arts, Heritage & Culture Strategy. He has worked on projects for the Cities of Canning, Cockburn, Fremantle, Gosnells, Joondalup, Karratha, Kwinana, Perth, and state government. Jon is the Artistic Director of the FolkWorld Fairbridge Festival, a popular family folk-based music festival in Pinjarra, established in 1993. Since 2021, Jon has worked at Murdoch University teaching part-time in the Community Development department.Jon has been a professional musician for 30+ years and has toured throughout Australia, Asia and Europe. He has recorded and released nine albums and continues to perform at festivals, folk clubs, and concert events.
