Worked in Computational Chemistry field under supervision of Prof Wong Ming Wah, Richard as Principal Investigator and Petar Žuvela (Postdoctoral Research Fellow) as mentor.- Developed a quantitative model for prediction of antioxidant activity using state-of-the-art machine learning methods (e.g., artificial neural network) in MATLAB; the model would be useful in design of novel potent antioxidant compounds- Developed an automated method to survey the presence of halogen bonds in biological systems using Python. This served as a tool to select a protein-ligand complex as a model system to investigate the role of non-covalent interactions in novel small MW drug development (molecular docking, QM/MM in Schrödinger)

As a student-led undergraduate council body in Halls of Residences of NUS, JCRC holds the role of overseeing the activity and welfare of the hall residents. As a Culture Director in JCRC for King Edward VII Hall, I oversaw the arts scene of the Hall. The roles that I have assumed as a Culture Director are as follows:- Liaised with various stakeholders including NUS' management, the Senior Common Room Committee (SCRC) and other Hall committees to improve the Hall experience for all residents,- Led and served eight performing arts group CCAs as well as Cultural Management Board (CMB) and Amplitude Committee (in charge of organising annual inter-hall choir and a cappella concert),- Administered and enforced rules and regulations with regards to shared facilities in Hall like Band Room and Dance Studio.

Worked in a research group under the guidance of Dr. Koh Tong-Wey as Principal Investigator and Kelsey Heng as graduate mentor- Investigated in Drosophila flies the susceptibility genes that predispose the flies with a diabetes-like condition towards neurodegeneration- Investigated the mechanisms underlying high-sugar diet gene interaction, using a variety of molecular markers, imaging methods and behavioural assays- Identified fly mutants whose neurodegeneration phenotypes are enhanced by diet-induced diabetes- Developed an automated procedure for image processing using ImageJ for analysis of data obtained from the startle-induced negative geotaxis assay
