My journey to becoming CEO and Co-Owner of DeWys Metal Solutions started with my eldest brother, Mark DeWys, in our parents’ barn. Mark founded DeWys Engineering (now Metal Solutions) in 1977, and since his passing in 1999, my mission has been to honor his legacy and continue to grow our company into something inspirational. My humble beginnings among the DeWys team as a janitor during high school led me through multiple roles while attending college, all of which prepared me for my current position, one where I strive to make a difference not only in manufacturing but in education as well.My belief is that learning is lifelong; we are constantly developing new skills and discovering opportunities to accomplish more. Being part of a professionally ran, yet family-owned organization allows me to put this into action and help others grow into their passions from a uniquely personal standpoint. My family history of K-12 teachers influences my enthusiasm for education, leading us to be essentially a “learning organization that makes things”. Through DeWys University, developed in 2012, we bring hands-on training to new team members who want to learn a new skill and gain a head start in the opportunistic field of manufacturing. Through our DeWys Strategic Plan, we have grown from the ground up and currently partner with several Fortune 500 companies. Among other incredible achievements, we have gone from a 16x20ft barn to 175,000 sq. ft. across two locations in West Michigan. As for myself, I am inspired greatly by my faith and humbled by the great success of our wonderful team members, who have all done an incredible job at shaping DeWys Metal Solutions into what it is today.
