Working at CCRS in Ottawa, my work is largely focused on InSAR software development. In concert with the Canada Space Agency (CSA) and the Data Utilization and Application program (DUAP-InSAR), we are creating an interface which will automatically analyze and derive ground movement information from SAR data acquired by the RADARSAT Constellation mission (RCM). The analysis software will interface with the Earth Observation Data Management System (EODMS) and will be available to a wide array of users.

As senior R&D analyst with MDA, I worked on surface moving target identification (SMTI) through along-track interferometry (ATI). This work was focused upon the research and development of analysis tools and techniques for deriving target identification and velocity measurements with InSAR. This included techniques such as Displaced Phase Centre Antenna (DPCA) analysis and required a detailed understanding of fundamental SAR processing algorithms. Test case scenarios were primarily aimed at ship detection in the Canadian Arctic using the MODEX beam modes of the RADARSAT-2 satellite.

As an analyst with MDA I worked primarily on ground movement monitoring using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) with the RADARSAT-2 satellite. This included deriving measurements of ground movement across a variety of monitoring sites often with challenging ground conditions. These results would then be synthesized into report form for clients at regular intervals, often on a weekly basis. Along with active monitoring I worked to research and develop new and novel techniques in InSAR monitoring. This included a quantitative evaluation of in situ measurement uncertainty using multiple redundant InSAR data sets and also developing a model-based match filtering approach to significantly improve InSAR results over a Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) Enhance Oil Recovery (EOR) site in Alberta.

Primary research focused upon the formulation of cosmological constraints based upon the observed abundance and distribution of galaxy clusters in the universe. This work required the creation of computational models of predicted abundances, detailed statistical analysis of observed cluster datasets, coding of complex computational routines and the assimilation of new information and tools.

As a teaching assistant, my work included deriving solution sets for the purposes of correcting assignments, preparing and delivering tutorials, and also delivering class lectures when required.

As a summer research student at the National Research Council in Ottawa, Canada I assisted in the ongoing research of my supervisor, in the field of molecular spectroscopy.
