To be responsible for the operational design and delivery of projects, programmes and activities that are accessible and attractive to those who find it difficult to engage in physical activity.To facilitate end to end set up, delivery and monitoring of projects and will ensure that the delivery is safe, follows a recognised evidence base and evaluations frameworks, meets appropriate standards and operates within budget. Work in partnership with local and national organisations and partners to promote, resource, develop and expand the service; including the CCG, the GWH NHS Foundation Trust, GP Practices, Schools and Sport England.5. Recruit, line manage and deploy a team of staff and volunteers to ensure they are well supported, are qualified appropriately and run sessions according to industry standards and in line with community need.5. Facilitate a range of training and personal development opportunities for the instructors and volunteers working on projects.6. Account for and be responsible for best practice in safeguarding, data protection and health and safety legislation in all project delivery.7. Take responsibility for a delegated operational budget, keep up to date records on income, expenditure and forecast on a monthly basis, and support the development of bids and secure additional external funding to develop and sustain projects .
Healthy Weight Project Officer (Children & Families)
To lead on the management, design, promotion, delivery and evaluation of Healthy Lifestyle Programmes targeting children, young people and their families to reduce obesity levels of children and young people in Swindon.To manage a team of staff and volunteers to deliver these Healthy Lifestyle Programmes.To be responsible for a delegated operational budget and to bid for and secure additional external funding to develop and sustain projects.To work in partnership with local and national organisations to resource, develop and expand the service.Key Accountabilities:1. Lead on the management, design, promotion, safe delivery and evaluation of Healthy Lifestyle Programmes for children aged 0-16-years and their families.2. Lead on the development of a Healthy Lifestyle ‘Maintenance’ Programme and ensure its sustainability.3. Manage all social marketing and communications for these Healthy Lifestyle Programmes, in partnership with the council’s communications team.4. Utilise a national database to record, monitor and evaluate data for all programmes to ensure local and national public health targets are met.5. Recruit and line manage staff and volunteers to deliver projects to a high standard.6. Provide on-going support, advice and guidance to staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary training, knowledge and expertise to carry out their roles.7. Work closely with the Nutrition and Dietetic Service Manager at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to ensure that dietetic delivery on all programmes is reflective of the Service Level Agreement.
Healthy Living Coordinator
Main roles & responsibilities:1. To liaise with the multi-disciplinary team within the service, to implement and develop a healthy lifestyle for each of the children whilst living in the home.2. To work in conjunction with Practitioners, Key Workers and Vocational Practitioners to ensure a consistent approach around nutrition and healthy living, whilst living in the home.3. To develop and implement training for the staff group within Barton around healthy living and nutrition, to develop skills, confidence and motivation of the staff team by improving their knowledge of nutrition.4. To support the staff team to implement healthy menus for the children living in the home and to include specific diets where necessary. 5. To work with the Vocational Practitioner team to develop a programme of physical exercise for every child living in the home whilst taking into account their individual physical abilities.6. To deliver the NAS SPELL autism training to support staff with their autism knowledge and practice.
