I was new into the control room around 2009, Jon was new Manager, We had one boiler up starting the other, started 2nd boiler feed pump booster then few minutes later started 2nd main boiler feed pump. During all the hectic times, people in the control room being new etc, I forgot to open the discharge valve on booster pump. You had about 5 minuets to open when you started the main boiler feed pump or you would trip the boiler. Well I tripped, about a 60k restart. Was my fault. After trip I got up from control board to calm down. I was by myself in the break room when Jon came in asked what happen. Told him I messed up forgot to open discharge valve on booster pump, really thought Bechtel would run me off. Jon thanked me for my honesty and asked I be more careful. Sometime your actions mean more than what you do. Very calm, not mad, not yelling, etc, I never forgot to not open a discharge valve again over the next 9 years ha!. A very good manager."
