Jón is educated as a neurologist at the Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm. He is the Head of clinic at the department of neurology at the Central Hospital in Kristianstad, Sweden. His primary interest fields in neurology are headache and stroke. He is a member of the International Headache Society and the European and World Stroke Organisations.
