I am currently a Software Development Scientist at the Centre for Environmental Modelling and Computation within the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds.Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher working in the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading on modelling of radiative forcing of climate by aerosols. I also work on analysis of cutting-edge laboratory observations of water vapour, and spectrally-resolved radiative transfer calculations of the atmosphere. Prior to this, I did my PhD at Reading, in which I published the first ever surface observations of the near-infrared water vapour continuum in the atmosphere. During this time I won multiple presentation awards, including Best Student Presentation at the 15th American Meteorological Society Conference on Atmospheric Radiation.I have also worked at Cardiff University, working as an embedded research software engineer in the School of Earth and Environment, in which I was also responsible for maintaining the School's Linux infrastructure used to store laboratory output.During my Masters degree at Swansea University, I worked abroad at the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences in Belgrade, Serbia as part of the IAESTE internship program, sponsored by the British Council.My skills include analysis of large datasets (particularly in Python), development of scientific models (in both Python and Fortran), machine learning, automation of tasks using code, software development using version control, GPGPU and other massively parallel computing and writing - a particular interest of mine is making complex material accessible to non-experts.In my spare time I enjoy writing and playing music, football, and hiking with my dog.
