CurrentThe Lead Consultant is responsible for driving business improvement projects from the initial client needs analysis to delivery, typically engaging with CEOs, COOs, and/or CFOs. As an expert in manufacturing operations, this role focuses on clients in commodities, staple foods, meat processing, and confectionery manufacturing.• Partnered with clients on strategies to deliver a lean and competitive business model, introducing sustainable and scalable best practices to drive production output, reduce costs, and decouple output from headcount.• Carried out top-down and bottom-up reviews of operational, production, and purchasing data, identifying immediate costs and efficiency gains while implementing short and long-term operational strategic plans.• Proposed and delivered a new organisational design (OD), providing up to $4m in resourcing cost savings and up to $15m in procurement cost savings for a specialist business in the rice processing market.• Identified operational efficiency opportunities of $1.8m in just six weeks for a commodities buyer.• Managed the tender process for a contract confectionery manufacturer to outsource its warehousing and logistics activities to a 3PL. The tender delivered around $500k in savings for 2022/2023.• Developed L&D induction, onboarding, and technical training documents for a new manufacturing facility.• Oversaw the implementation of a new product weight management system (Average Quantity System/e-weights) for a fish manufacturer, delivering savings of $1.5m in reduced raw materials giveaway.• Established the business process plan for a commodities buyer to scale into a larger FMCG operation.• Rolled out LEAN-based training programs to upskill teams and embed a continuous improvement culture.• Introduced change management and technical training materials for the deployment of a new supply chain forecasting system for an automotive spare parts distributor.
