Pie for Providers builds human-centered tech to improve pay and working conditions for childcare providers. At Pie for Providers, I've:- Built the first, spreadsheet-based proof-of-concept prototype of the first product, a Nebraska child care subsidy management platform.- Researched state-specific policy details to build our "rules engine"- Incorporated user feedback from an initial pilot group of home-based childcare providers into to inform the prototype.- Helped the CTO translate this prototype into the Ruby on Rails webapp through conversation and code reviews.- Built a tool that reduces onboarding time by automatically read and encoding PDF data using computer vision and optical character recognition tools in Python

To-date, Chicago Beyond has invested more than $40M in organizations, people, and ideas so that all young people can truly be free.At Chicago Beyond, I've led a wide variety of projects and initiatives in service of our mission. Including: - Helping the third-largest public school district (Chicago Public Schools) define strategy and launch a transformation to become more healing-centered district in order to support students most impacted by trauma, a key driver of inequitable outcomes - Managing a $2M hyper-local rapid response effort at start of pandemic to fill gaps in access to essentials (diapers, food, hygiene items) for 50,000+ families facing the largest barriers to equity in this crisis- Helping design, pilot, and launch a culturally responsive program to help high-school youth build coping skills to address trauma and other life stressors- Defining and implementing Chicago Beyond's unique human-centered impact measurement strategy, improving the rate of organizational learning in order to better serve young people (see Impact Philosophy in Whole Philanthropy, p.14 for more on the Chicago Beyond's approach)- Building infrastructure to support a growing startup (e.g., launching CRM tool, designing and leading summer internship program, establishing regular leadership team touchpoints)Currently, I'm directly managing two-person team to deliver on critical projects while supporting their professional development. MissionU is a one-year, debt-free college alternative that teaches students 21st-century skills and only charges them when they land a high-paying job.On four-month externship from Bain, I developed and delivered business and economics curriculum for the first cohort of ~30 students via live online instruction. In this role, I started and led weekly team-wide reflections to translate student feedback into rapid product evolution (e.g., right-sizing difficulty and workload, repeating lesson formats with high engagement and signs of student growth, developing new assessment tools). In addition, I led a retrospective to revise the first trimester curriculum after the 1st cohort, leading to shift in content (more technical less business), clearer connections between modules (e.g., Excel, Stats, and Python), and a more explicit link between content and competencies.
