Astronics AES - Chief Engineer - Advanced Engineering ResearchAs a highly accomplished Chief Engineer with over 35 years of experience in the aerospace industry, I possess extensive expertise in conducting advanced research into new technologies for products for Aerospace applications. I have a proven track record of managing eight to twelve IR&D projects annually with a variable team composite of one to five members, making me a highly effective engineering leader.In addition to my leadership skills, I am also an expert in the design and systems development for large scale AC and DC power generating systems, with experience as the Chief Architect for six avionics, navigation, and communications upgrades on a T-33 over a 15-year period. I have also been recognized for my technical problem solving skills as a TRIZ Practitioner.Throughout my career, I have been an active member of various industrial memberships including SAE, INCOSE, and SAVE, and have served as the Program Power System Chair for the SAE 2020 AeroTech Conference. I have co-authored numerous standards for the SAE AE-7 Electrical Power Standard Committee and have also been recognized for my contributions to the industry with several patent awards.My current role as Chief Engineer at Astronics AES involves overseeing research studies for product optimization in the fields of electrical, mechanical, thermal management, and manufacturability of power supplies, and mentoring multi-disciplined engineers. I have a proven track record of results-oriented leadership, technical problem-solving skills, and expertise in the aerospace market. Current research includes development of IoT networks in aerospace applications. I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from Northern Arizona University.
