As the Head of Business Intelligence for the ICB (formerly CCG), I have jointly led the BI function (a team of approx. 30), ensuring it provides a high quality and responsive service that is able to support the ICB in delivering its strategic and operational objectives. I collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that robust analytical insights support the ICB's objectives of providing high-quality, patient-centred, proactive care and assess that the function meets the organisation’s constantly growing and changing information and performance reporting needs.Key responsibilities:• Data Strategy Leadership - develop and execute the BI team’s strategy to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.• Team Management - lead and mentor a team of business analysts (bands 5 to 8a), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.• Performance Monitoring – oversee the implementation of performance dashboards and reporting systems to monitor key healthcare metrics and operational performance, including the development of a System Integrated Performance Report (IPR) within PowerBI.• Stakeholder Collaboration - work with commissioning teams and other key external stakeholders to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and utility for various stakeholders.• IG and Compliance - ensure all BI activities adhere to NHS and internal policies, information governance regulations and industry standards.• Resource Allocation – develop processes to identify team workload and identify team priorities to help make best use of available resources to maximise efficiency and productivity.• Training and Development - provide appropriate training and support to staff in their use of visualisation and data storage/querying (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Excel), promoting a data-literate organisational culture.

Worked as the information lead initially for North Norfolk CCG, but subsequently also covered South Norfolk CCG Norwich CCG, covering all of Central Norfolk. The role involved managing a small team to undertake detailed analysis of healthcare data across all healthcare settings to uncover insights to drive improvements in patient care, resource management, and overall service delivery. This was a hands-on role and as well as building reports and dashboards myself, I also collaborated with multidisciplinary commissioning teams to develop and maintain appropriate reporting, performance management and planning, ensuring that information was readily available to support commissioning colleagues.Key responsibilities:• Leading on the development of reporting and monitoring of QIPP projects across Central Norfolk.• Leading on the development of all Operational Plans across Central Norfolk.• Overseeing the development of appropriate finance and performance reports to the CCG’s Governing Body and Council of Members.• Leading on the development of effective benchmarking tools to help identify clinical variation across Central Norfolk.• Ensuring processes were in place to enable the development of practice information packs to all GP practices within Central Norfolk.• Acting as a first point of contact for BI queries from internal and external stakeholders. • Developing and running monthly processes to generate performance, activity and financial data and information for key provider contracts.• Line managing the BI team and ensuring the team received suitable training.

Dual role working as the information lead for both North Norfolk RMC and the newly forming North Norfolk CCG. The role involved undertaking detailed analysis of healthcare data, with a particular focus on referral data to uncover insights, identify unwarranted clinical variation across GP practices and support the commissioning aims of the CCG.

During my time working for Atkins, I worked as a transport planner, specialising in traffic modelling, using advanced analytical and simulation tools to optimise transport systems. My role involved the strategic planning and design of efficient, sustainable transport networks, aimed improving traffic flow, reducing congestion and improving journey times. I was frequently required to collaborate with stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions to address transportation challenges and support long and short term infrastructure planning.Some typical project experience is summarised below:• Transport Assessments - assessed the performance of a number of sections of the A1, A11, A12, A14, A47, A120 and M11 through a combination of complex spreadsheet calculations and analytical techniques, using a variety of data sources. Produced detailed reports which summarised and validated the data, and also identified congestion problems and potential solutions. Assisted in presenting the proposals arising from the reports to the client (Highways Agency).• Simulation and Forecasting – used traffic simulation tools such as Paramics, TRANSYT, Arcady and LinSig to predict future traffic patterns and evaluate the impact of proposed infrastructure projects.• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyse transportation data, including traffic counts, travel times, and accident reports, to inform planning decisions.• Stakeholder Collaboration - worked closely with government agencies (predominantly the Highways Agency), urban planners, and civil engineers to design and implement transport solutions that met community needs.• Report Preparation - prepared detailed technical reports and presentations on traffic analysis findings, recommendations, and project outcomes for various audiences.
