Over the last 15+ years working for the Boy Scouts of America I have learned a great deal and been able to accomplish much. I have recruited and led many executives and thousands of volunteers alike to provide excellent service to young people across the United States. Through successful teams, I have been able to help tens of thousands of youth and adults achieve their goals and learn life-long skills. Through my fundraising efforts and fiscal management millions of dollars have been raised to support these endeavors.Over the years I have created and implemented a variety of innovative programs to support and train future leaders as well as volunteers using anywhere from outdoor settings to classroom instruction and now through video conferencing technology. I have directed successful camps, marketed Scouting through varied mediums, and been able to rub shoulders with the best of individuals.I am an Eagle Scout and earned three palms besides. I have been involved in Scouting throughout my life because of the experiences of my youth in scouting, Wood Badge experience and the impact I see Scouting has on today’s youth. Talent management, motivation, and solid leadership have made a difference in the success of my employment. I have enjoyed helping those I have managed succeed in their careers/volunteer positions. While going beyond the expected in my responsibilities, I am able to master details as well as keep in mind the big picture. Life long learning and continual improvement in my stewardships is important to me. Being active and committed to the community is important to me. I have served as 2nd Vice President, President-Elect, President and Immediate Past President for the Kiwanis Club. Some other service-oriented clubs I have peen a part of through out my life include Rotary International, Lions Club (board member), Leo Club and Operation Smile. Learning other cultures and languages has been an enjoyable part of my life as I have lived in several different states across the United States, Germany and Taiwan; as well as visited France and China. I speak Mandarin Chinese. Interacting with a variety of people, spending time in the outdoors, learning new things and sharing my knowledge with others are things I enjoy. My self-motivated, dedicated, and creative personality helps me keep an open mind as I look for the win-win in difficult situations. This life is wonderous and bright and I hope to meet you on the trail someday!
