My career with HMS started where I worked four years at Houston Junior High. While there I taught math grades 7th - 9th and coached the Boy's 8th and 9th Grade Basketball teams to border conference championships. I taught at Hobbs High School for 16 years. During this time I taught AP Calculus AB for 8 years and BC for 1 year. My best year teaching Calculus AB was in 2009 when I had 83% of my students pass with a qualifying score. In 2015 I taught Calculus BC and had a passing rate of 100% on the AP Calculus exam. This has only been done one other time in Physics. Zeke Kaney the current Head Principal at HHS was teaching Physics B at the time. I have served as a reader for ETS and the College Board for AP Calculus for 5 years. I have been a trainer in the past for Springboard, an affiliate of College Board to train teachers across the nation. I was the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator for a year and a half. This school year I completed my fourth year as the Assistant Principal at Houston Middle School. I will start my first year as Head Principal at Houston Middle School. Finally, I was the first ever Veteto recipent for excellence in teaching for the Hobbs Municipal Schools. In 2017 I was nominated as Alumni of the year for USW (formerly CSW).
