Jon Gray is currently Director for Security and Resilience sector activity at the ADS group, the UK trade organisation that promotes the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industries. Alongside this role he serves as Secretary and principal adviser to the UK Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers' Community (www.riscuk.org).Prior to his current role, Jon led operations at the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) within the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism, part of the Home Office. (www.jsarc.org)Throughout a distinguished career, he has often found himself working for government at the nexus point partnering with industry. He has extensive experience at senior level and in diplomatic roles based at UK Embassies overseas. He has thrived in high profile, challenging and diverse environments around the world, where working at pace, understanding local sensitivities, adapting to evolving scenarios and remaining calm under pressure has been crucial. Engagement skills have been supplemented and enhanced with considerable team leadership and service delivery experience. He has led in capacity building, cross government liaison roles, government policy, overseeing region-wide implementations, programme management, cost reduction, budget management, continuous improvement, outsourcing, security inspections and crisis management. At the forefront of this experience has been his work in strategic liaison roles. This has often been in roles without specific powers, relying on soft skills to build relationships and leverage influence. Working for the UK government overseas, he has developed strategic engagement plans and then overseen delivery of those strategies.
