CurrentThe Cabinet Office sits at the centre of government supporting the Cabinet and Prime Minister.I joined initially on a short term contract to guide the central finance team through a critical period of change; I was then asked to lead a project to transform the financial management of the Civil Service Pension Scheme. In late 2018 I took a permanent role taking on additional responsibilities such as pensions comms and engagement and the financial leadership of the civil service's central HR function with a turnover of £180m.In these roles, I have often inherited struggling and demotivated teams with a poor reputation in the business. I have led and empowered them by setting demanding goals, putting my trust in them to deliver them whilst supporting them. The outcomes have been recognised across the business with the teams now seen as value adding.
