Using my extensive utility and meter reading experience to help Nighthawk build a new AMI system as well as helping with their innovative iHydrant product line.Highlights include:- Building requirements for a new water endpoint for the Adaptiv AMI system.- Working through a storyboard approach to build requires for the Adaptiv and iHydrant software applications.- Use of ESRI ArcGIS Online system to display and analyze network problems and propagations.- Data diving and analysis for network performance of the Adaptiv AMI system.- Built tools to take utility customer information and determine the number of hubs and leafs required for proper communication for the Adaptiv AMI system.- Design and implementation of a multi-threaded socket based communication system to handle communicating with multiple AMI endpoints. - Design and implementation of an Amazon AWS based leak detection system using Amazon AWS IoT Core, DynamoDB, and Lambda.

Responsible for software development, innovation, and strategy. Full lifecycle development, lead architect through implementation and support. Supported all technical innovation for software systems and directed the transition from an ad-hoc unstructured development environment to a modern Agile/ LEAN based environment. Provided direction and leadership to a team of 18 internal resources. Led multiple teams of external resources. Notable achievements:- During my tenure at Neptune, software went from not being part of the sales process to being a feature that was actively promoted- Member of Neptune Strategic Planning Team, responsible for guidance on integration with partners and customers- Software lead of Central Technology Office, providing technical guidance, software innovation, and prototyping- Worked extensively with marketing & sales to identify requirements and guide development of systems that met them- Led enterprise level team charged with the transition of onsite perpetual software architecture and deployment model to a platform based software as a service (SaaS) model.- Designed a cloud based managed data collection engine to be used for all current and future Neptune data collection. Supported all Neptune collection methods including multiple cellular carriers, multiple LORA providers, and our own proprietary radios. Allowed security to be implemented at one Neptune controlled location rather than at each customers network- Worked with partners and customers to design Neptune API’s to allow our customers and partners to have access to data within our systems- Worked with multiple outside consulting firms to augment staff and bring in outside viewpoints - Part of cross functional SDLC team that evaluated and implemented Agile/LEAN software development processes

Interfaced with FieldNet solution sales team, development team, and support group, to win new electric meter reading and field service utility clients and deliver highly customized product solutions. Full life cycle development. Provided team leadership for the software and support teams for FieldNet. Worked with marketing and sales to win business. Worked with customers to develop requirements and implement highly customized software systems. Notable achievements:- Leveraged the powerful Fieldnet software product as a base for a new dedicated water solution that was successfully delivered to over 3000 water utilities- Worked with marketing and sales to define requirements and develop solutions targeted at the top 100 electric utilities. Those solutions were implemented by over 60% of the top 100 utilities, and the Fieldnet solution managed over 15 million metering end-points and was deployed on over 5000 devices every day- Performed demos and prepared presentations with marketing and sales. Notable achievements:- Grew company to multi-million dollar revenue before selling to Neptune Technology Group. Neptune felt the award winning Fieldnet platform would allow them to take their software to the next level.- Converted F.A.S.T service order system into award winning Fieldnet. This system was the first Windows CE handheld meter reading system and was the only non Itron system with the ability to read Itron ERT’s as well as optically probe most manufacturers electric C&I meters- Part of marketing and sales team that presented our systems to the utilities- Met with the customers and performed systems matches. Where once sold, we met with the customer and defined what they needed the system to do. Produced documentation showing customizations including imports, exports, screens, functionality changes, reports, and whatever else the customer needed the system to do
