• Directed an investment of ~£100M over last 5 years to establish a new, high performing technological programme and engineering capability to research, develop and commercialise unique solid oxide electrolysis technology for production of green hydrogen at world-leading efficiency. • As a result of the success of the programme, secured technology licencing deals for development and manufacture of solid oxide electrolysis products with partners in Japan, Taiwan and India• Delivery of engineering services and consultancy to strategic partners to drive success in their product development programmes.• Collaborating with C-suite team to set strategic direction, develop technology/product roadmaps and implement long-term business plans.• Led a team of 40+ scientists and engineers to successfully deliver a megawatt-class first-of-a-kind prototype electrolyser system with a £20M budget now under demonstration with Shell in India.• Now leading a team of 90+ scientists and engineers to develop commercial SOEC products for multi-megawatt commercial deployment.• Developed and instilled an agile Technology Management practice aligned to a technology licencing business model.

Leading programmes to enable the development of Ceres' solid oxide electrolysis technologies for licensing through strategic partnerships with the goal of establishing Ceres as a world-leading technology developer in this new space. These technologies will enable industrial-scale production of green hydrogen and green chemicals from renewable electricity at competitive costs (so called Power-to-X or synthetic fuels or e-Fuels applications). Project Manager and Lead Engineer within the Engineering Design department of CCFE (previously UKAEA). Leading a team of engineers in the detail design and evaluation of Neutral Beam Heating and Current drive systems for the ITER project based in Cadarache, France. Developing the Systems Engineering process for CCFE in order to improve the management and control of highly complex development projects with international dimensions.

Employed within the Hardware Engineering department of Thales Training and Simulation, I managed a team of multi-disciplined engineers in the design and development of a new civil flight simulator platform - "RealitySeven". This challenging role provided me with a great experience in the technical leadership of a complex development programme as well as in-depth exposure to the commercial aspects of the business. I was responsible for the project management and technical control of a number of key work packages ensuring that the product design met both technical and business requirements. I was also instrumental in the selection and management of international design partners and suppliers and developed key relationships in outsourcing product modules for manufacture and test.

As part of my role I managed a team of 19 Mechanical Engineers involved in the design and development of hardware systems for civil and military flight simulators. The role involved the day-to-day staff management of the team and included resource planning; professional and skills development and ensuring performance and quality targets were met. I regularly reviewed our engineering tools and processes in order to meet the demands of the business.

Responsible for the product management and engineering of major structural elements of simulator products including visual displays systems. Within this role I was involved with supporting the programme bid phase; defining programme design requirements; ensuring and demonstrating that designs meet all safety and customer requirements; ensuring quality, reliability, maintainability and ease of manufacture was designed into the product and planning research and development activities.I carried out structural analysis of components and systems through the use of finite element techniques to model large structural systems and composite materials.

Design Engineer developing a range of entertainment simulation products for the leisure industry. During the initial period of my employment I was trained within the design office environment and developed my skills in engineering design and the use of various CAD systems. I gained experience in all phases of project implementation from sales support and concept designs through to detailed engineering and site installation.
