Oral Solid Dose (OSD) GSK Ware Direct responsibility for the manufacture of established tablet products and of new products in various platforms (specifically tablet formulations) but also capsules and Powder for Oral Suspension.Direct responsibility for approximately 70 staff working a double day shift pattern. This includes operators (where i have gained experience in working with trade unions) Shift coordinators, shift managers, operational support managers and a continuous improvement teamManagement oversight of all manufacturing processes from dispensary, granulation, compression (including encapsulation), coating, printing and packaging operations.Responsible for the safety, quality and compliance of this highly complex area at GSK's only new product introduction and launch site for OSD products in the entire network.The role operates in the short term (0-12 weeks) with respect to the day to day running of a complex production facility, daily safety, quality and production meetings. Staff development through structured 1:1's and purpose driven GEMBA/coaching activities. Constant liaison with support functions such as quality, technical and engineering to ensure key performance targets are adhered too.The role operates in the long term with respect to supply chain planning (3-18months) ensuring the facility has the correct and trained staffing levels and the correct number and types or manufacturing suites/equipment. Setting, aligning and communicating the strategy (2-5 years) is a key part of the role performed in conjunction with some sister sites.As a member of the site Extended Leadership Team become involved in site initiatives and acted as a champion for Global Production Systems (GPS) in OSD.Being an active sponsor on significant capital projects to ensure business goals are achieved, for example installation of new compression suites (approx £2million capital) to upgrades of control systems to reduce operator interventions.
