Sun And Shadow

I am the President and Lead Mechanical Engineer for Sun and Shadow, a company focused on products and education for scoped rifle sports. I started Sun and Shadow as a side business to support my hobby in competitive shooting. Through competition, I was encouraged and inspired by others to take my passion for shooting further. I started the company with a range of products that I designed for myself in competition, and those products are now improving the marksmanship ability of other competitors and professional shooters. Our products optimize rifle set-ups and provide data or gear organization, and allow better control over the shot. We can help all shooters build their craft, whether the end user is a hobbyist, competitor, or carries a rifle for duty.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Ii

Scottsdale, Az, Us

At Axon, I was a member of the video hardware R&D team, where we developed next-generation body-worn camera systems for use in law enforcement and public service industries. I have been responsible for Axon’s first connected camera product, Body 3, along with wearable camera mounts and accessories for our Flex 2 body-worn camera product. I was also the lead mechanical engineer for Signal Sidearm, a holster-mounted sensor that activates all Axon body-worn and in-car cameras in the area when the officer's weapon is drawn. One of my favorite accomplishments at Axon was the introduction of our departmental knowledge-sharing program. This concept gives engineers a platform to share their research, passion, challenges, new technologies, or improved departmental processes in a 15-minute TED-style presentation in front of a technical audience. These forums improve communication, leadership, and presentation skills within our multi-functional team.I'm also experienced with TASER weapons, including design, functionality, and their effect on human physiology. I have participated in TASER certification courses and was rated as a Conducted Electrical Weapons (CEW) Instructor.

New Product Development Engineer

Daytona Beach, Florida, Us

During my time at Teledyne, I supported the offshore oil & gas industry with design, assembly, and testing of subsea fiber optic and electrical connector systems, as well as development of custom subsea ROV tooling. I led and managed programs following the PACE product development cycle, and supported additional projects as a team member. My projects allowed me to interface with vendors and customers to deliver engineered services, and I am also very proud to be the first trained and qualified NPD engineer capable of deploying Teledyne products at our customers' offshore sites. See below for the video I made from offshore survival training! One of my efforts at Teledyne was to introduce, maintain, and advance NPD's additive manufacturing capabilities. I established procedures for submission and scheduling of 3D print requests, developed design guidelines to efficiently print engineering prototypes or marketing models, and oversaw use of the machines. I was also able to structure and manage a program for saleable mock-up and prototype models.I started at Teledyne as an engineering intern in June 2012, and was hired as an NPD Engineer I directly after receiving my BSME in December 2012. I was promoted again to NPD Engineer II in September 2014, and once more to Technology Manager in December 2015.

Jun 2012 - Jan 2016

Gunnery Systems Consultant

Ot Training Solutions, Inc.

I worked for OTTS as an independent contractor. During my contract, I helped develop virtual targeting simulations to train the US Army's M2A3 Bradley IFV gunnery crews. I used my knowledge in exterior ballistics to position static and moving targets that required engagement with the M2A3’s weapon systems, including the M242 Bushmaster 25mm chain-driven cannon, M240 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, and BGM-71 TOW missiles.
