Senior Rehabilitation Consultant
CurrentLiaise with the representatives of insurers and major employers; perform file reviews and provide advice to establish and refine the company’s processes to ensure an effective management of workplace injuries.Manage large portfolios of occupational rehabilitation work for multiple major employers; act as a subject matter expert, address any issues, and actively identify opportunities for continued account growth.Provide advice to employers on best practice measures available to them, including the provision of onsite support and the set up of onsite treatment facilities to allow patient to attend treatment while at work.Facilitate regular training and development opportunities for the broader team; run monthly mentoring sessions with junior staff to assist them in achieving their specific professional development goals.Consult with workers, employers, insurers and medical professionals; collaboratively determine the needs and requirements of the patient, and ensure the implementation of an appropriate worker recovery plan.Perform both standardised and unstandardized functional capacity assessments, and identify duties that support improvements in a worker’s capacity.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:With a focus on continuous improvement, set up and ran a monthly journal club to ensure staff remained aware of and continued to implement evidence-based practice into their case management.Initiated the development of a medical health provider database to be used as a resource for staff to source evidence-based health practitioners into workplace recovery.Initiated the development of a customer database to improve the management of customer records, and to better identify further business opportunities for staff and management.Oversaw significant increase in direct work generated from the delivery of a high quality and tailored customer service.
