In my role as Head of Projects I am responsible for the development and delivery of 3 major projects at the Forgemasters business in Sheffield. The projects are phased over 5 to 10 years and comprise major new build works and installation of significant new plant and machinery.

A consultancy business for the construction industry. We will engage with your business to advise and/or lead on;- Development and Delivery of high value capital projects- Business planning and implementation- M&A- Delivery of business targets i.e. P&L and Working Capital targets

Wakefield, Stockport And Newcastle

Responsible for circa £120m annual turnover, P&L, cash generation, work winning, project delivery, customer management, health and safety, business improvement initiatives, staff recruitment & circa 180 staff across the 3 regional offices (Wakefield, Stockport & Newcastle). Projects included new build social housing, hotels & student accommodation, Higher Education facilities, Schools, University teaching facilities and hotels.

October 2012 to present, Managing Director for Kirkbride Groups’ Construction Services business (a commission for Middlewood Consulting Ltd) Responsibilities include;- Leading the acquisition of several target companies with a combined turnover of £110m.- Production of the Information Memorandum to engage funders. - Production of business plans for each target company and the combined business, including the change management strategy and growth plan.

Main Board Director responsible for;- P&L and working capital targets for the NW region.- Work winning- Delivery of all commitments to customers within the region- Circa 120 staff

Responsible for Carillion’s Contract Services Division (CSD); a group of businesses that transferred to Carillion through the EAGA acquisition in March 2011.

November 2010 to May 2011 - Operations Director for the South Tyneside & Gateshead and Durham BSF’s.- £76m turnover business unit, successfully delivering P&L and cash targets.- Secured additional £55m orders from these local authorities.- Provided over 40 apprenticeships for local people and 4 placements for homeless people as part of Carillion’s BAOH CSR programme.- Set up dedicated performance measured supply chain to deliver the project portfolio.January 2009 to November 2010 - Design & Construction Bid Lead for Education PFI opportunities.- Bid and won Rochdale BSF a £190m PFI scheme - Set up Rochdale BSF Business Unit; Turnover £40m per annum; delivering P&L and cash targets- As part of Carillions CSR responsibilities, provided over 20 apprenticeship opportunities for local Rochdale people, respent 15% of the Capex with SME’s within Rochdale post codes and provided opportunities for 4 homeless people as part of Carillions BAOH programme.2005 – 2009 Operations Director for Carillion’s Yorkshire Business Unit. - At its peak, the Yorkshire business turned over £120m achieving profitability and cash targets. - Work was secured in variety of sectors including Education, Defence, Health, Food Retail, Industrial, Commercial (Offices), Leisure (Hotels), Student Accommodation and High Rise Residential. Procurement routes included NEC, JCT, PFI and bespoke contracts, both negotiated and competitively bid- Set up and recruited staff to deliver RPC framework for the MoD based at Catterick. This opportunity delivered £100m+ secured orders in first 3 years.- Secured second term with Accent to deliver £30m NHS LIFT schemes in Bradford and North East England. - Secured and/or delivered £91m of orders for Unite as part of their Student Accommodation delivery programme in North England.- Developed Optimum Development Models for high rise residential apartments, student accommodation and care homes for the elderly.

Various management roles on a variety of significant projects across the UK, a selection of which includes;- Portcullis House (New Parliamentary Buildings), £260m new office for the Parliamentary Works Directorate, London.- 88 Wood Street, £100m new office for Daiwa Securities, London. - Collocation Project, £100m new office complex for the MoD, Bristol.- Thames House Refurbishment, £180m office refurbishment for the MoD, London.- Euston Centre Block H, £22m office extension and refurbishment for British Land, London.- “K2”, £18m mixed use scheme for Norwich Union, Leeds- 80 New Bond Street, £5m refurbishment and office extension for Norwich Union, London.- Safeway Stores Plc, advising on £1.8bn of property assets.- The Oasis, £5m retail refurbishment of the food court at Meadowhall, Sheffield.- The Square, £24m new build offices, hotel and car park for Carillion Developments, Sheffield.- Princes Dock, £18m new high rise residential accommodation for City Lofts, Liverpool.- Various small projects up to £2m for clients including Matra Marconi Space, BLP Components, Essex County Council and Stansted Airport Authority Ltd.
